PV creates brave spaces with girls and gender expansive youth of color to take charge of their own power as leaders, igniting their abilities to confidently express themselves, build community, and act against injustices affecting their lives.
Something I’ve learned about being an Activista is the power of community. It’s nice to have a community that loves and supports you no matter what. Communities don’t need a leader to be strong, they can be strong on their own.

Healing Justice Initiative

Powerful Voices’ Taking Root Healing Justice initiative was created in response to the mental health crisis that BIPOC girls and gender expansive youth are experiencing in our communities. This initiative is designed to support BIPOC youth, their families, and the phenomenal youth advocates experiencing burnout and vicarious trauma.

We are all in need of care, rest and a radical reimagining of healing.
